Tomorrow’s Topic: Job Venting!

Tomorrow we’ll be talking about our jobs – big or small, “official” or no – and what totally sucks about them.

Everyone loves a good bitch fest, right?

As usual, we’ll be asking you – yes, YOU! – to contribute. Post on your blog, chat on twitter using the #girltalkthursday hashtag (or #gtt if you have a long tweet) and discuss it right here in the comments; what bugs you about your job? Screw meditation techniques, counting to ten and zen gardens – let it out!

What constitutes a job, you ask? Let me elaborate:

  • You work at an office? That’s a job! I bet something sucks about it!
  • You work at home? That’s a job! What ticks you off?
  • You’re a stay a home mom? That is definitely a job. And if you say you have nothing to vent about, you can come watch MY kids.
  • Do you laze about because you’ve made your millions and your biggest concern today is what to watch on tv? Screw you. Just kidding. I’m sure something sucks about being independently wealthy. All knowledge is worth having. Enlighten us.
  • Are you a student? That’s work! We want to hear about it!

Have I made my point? You’re doing something during the day, and likely that “thing” constitutes some sort of job. With every job comes the highs and the lows. We’ll talk about the highs another day – this time, we want to know about the lows. Misery loves company, everyone loves a chance to bitch, and the internet is your oyster. I’ll be back tomorrow with a scintillating post about why it sucks to be a tech gal in a small-medium business environment.

If you don’t feel comfortable posting about your current job, we totally get that. Tell us about your first job bagging groceries at the local Quickie Mart or that time you mowed lawns all summer just to spend the dough you earned on unexpected car repairs.
