Hey, it’s a new year! My resolutions are CLEARLY not blogging more consistently or keeping up with my side projects or communicating with my friends.
I don’t want this lovely place to go to waste. So I propose a new, sillier function. Weekly open thread! What does that mean? Um, so use this post kind of like a message board I guess. Say hi! Start a conversation. For example, I’d like to know what you’re reading. Right now. Novel-wise. I mean, I know you’re reading this post.
I’m reading Out of the Ashes by R.W. Day and I am on the fence on whether or not I like it but I’m reading it on the Kindle I got for Christmas and the AWESOMENESS of that is distracting me from whether or not the book sucks.
So, hi ladies and lurking menfolk. Come play. It’s Girl Talk Thursday.

I’m reading Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr
Its a YA about Faeries

I am so into YA lit right now. Actually, all the time. It feels like a smaller commitment. I have The Eagle of the Ninth on my desk to read in preparation of that movie coming out with hotass Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell. Romans!

I seriously wasn’t sure about them. Since forever. But I love it. My biggest LOVE it evidence? I keep trying to TURN THE PAGE.

To Maria: I know the feeling. I use the kindle app on my phone and have read a couple books I could have cared less to read because it’s so neat and nifty. Although I wish there was a way to figure out how to get library books on the darn thing. I’ve only read out of the Free Kindle Book section. I’m cheap HA -_- (Hence why I haven’t just bought the kindle)
To Pamela: What is the faerie novel about? I enjoy a good fantasy book and YA has been one of my favorite genre’s. They just seem more magical & are good escapes.
I haven’t read any of these books you guys have mentioned
, but am taking note of them.
I just finished reading a couple books. I read two at a time for some odd reason I’ve never figured out. I finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. That was far more engaging and meaningful than Blade Runner(movie adaptation)and I was really happy I read it. Then I just finished American Gods so now the most natural thing to read seems to be Annasi Boys. SO I’m reading that and 1984. I’ve never read it before and it seems to me like one of those books everyone references so figured I should school myself lol.

I’m reading Ripley’s Game by Patricia Highsmith. It’s the third of the Tom Ripley books (the first of which is The Talented Mr. Ripley.) I LOVE these books. I read the first two several years ago and I’ve been holding off on the third one.
This is the 6th book I’ve read so far this year, keeping up with my quasi-resolution to read more. It means less of my nose in the internet, which is not at ALL a bad thing.
